Doors Open:  9:30am - 3:30pm     Artisan & Exhibitor Show & Sale  

Take the opportunity to meet artisans & gear makers, sharing their skills and traditions related to the vaquero techniques of rawhide braiding, silversmithing, weaving. leatherwork. Use the opportunity to ask questions and learn more vaquero history while you experience the event on the historic "Rancho" grounds where early vaqueros worked and lived during the Mission and Rancho era 1797 - 1800's.

Time:  10:45am  Outdoors with singer Adrian & Jessica Hedges cowboy poet

Time:  11:00am - 11:45am   "Vaquero-Style Stages of Training" and

                                                              "Riata Demonstrations"

Featuring well known "riatamen" and vaquero-style horsemen Bruce Sandifer and Richard Caldwell teaming-up with their horses visually showing the traditional stages of hackamore, 2-rein and spade bit finished bridle horse. They will demonstrate the artful use of rawhide braided riatas (the big loop), a necessary tool of early vaqueros in the 1700 - 1800's. This is a special presentation! 

Time:  12:00noon - 1:00pm   Enjoy a chef-prepared Rancho box-lunch!
